The ANA\C Members Page
Membership Definition
Individual members of ANA\C shall
be registered nurses. Other membership in ANA\C shall be in accordance
with qualifications as set forth in the bylaws. Membership shall
be unrestricted by an other consideration.
Qualifications
Individual member: An individual
member is one who has been granted a license to practice as a
registered nurse in at least one State, territory, or possession
of the United States and does not have a license under suspension
or revocation in any state, or has completed a nursing education
program qualifying the individual to take the registered nurse
licensure examination with confirmation of licensure within six
months.
Chapter Member: Chapters may be formed by
individual members of ANA\C who have geographic proximity,
related professional interests, or other reasons for forming
a chapter and who petition the ANA\C Board of Directors for
recognition. Chapter bylaws must be harmonious with ANA\C Bylaws.
There shall be a uniform dues structure for all chapters of
ANA\C.
Rights
The member shall have the right to:

receive an ANA\C membership
card, The American Journal of Nursing, The American Nurse,
and the ANA\C newsletter.

have access to members only
section of the ANA web site which offers information about
ANA, core issues affecting the profession and ANA's strategic
process, policy and practice highlights, government affairs
involvement both at the federal and state levels, all the great
ANA publications, accessing the nursing resource directory,
direct access to CINAHL, getting exclusive newsfeeds, access
to online CE modules, and information about member discounts

vote and be a candidate for
ANA\C and ANA elective or appointed positions in accordance
with qualifications set forth
in the ANA\C and ANA Bylaws.

participate in the election
of ANA delegates.

attend the ANA\C General
Assembly and ANA House of Delegates, conventions and other
unrestricted activities.
-
affiliate with ANA councils in accordance with ANA Bylaws.
-
submit proposals for consideration by ANA\C General Assembly.
-
attend the Congress of the International Council of Nurses.
-
be accorded other rights as provided for under common parliamentary
or statutory law and congruent with ANA\C purpose.

have issues and concerns referred to the committee on Conflict
Resolution for redress and appeal.
Responsibilities
The member shall have the responsibility to:

uphold the bylaws of the ANA\C and the bylaws of ANA.

abide by the Code of Ethics
for Nurses as adopted by the ANA House of Delegates.

pay dues as required by the
ANA\C.
-
fulfill the requirement of
an office or committee if elected or appointed.

comport oneself in
an ethical and professional manner.
Dues:
There are 2 ways to become a member
1. Register
online. You will be directed to
the ANA secured online membership registration page. Complete
the form online, enter your credit card information and submit
the
form electronically. Only credit cards are accepted for the online
registration. If payment by check is your preferred method,
please use option 2 list below.
2. Register by regular mail. Please
print and fill out the Membership application and send it along
with
your check to the address listed at the bottom of the application.

Registered Nurses: A Distinctive HealthCare
