  • ANA\C General Assembly In 2009: Save the Date-October 24, 2009 the ANA\C General Assembly will be held at West Cost University, Anaheim Campus from 10-5. Circle the date in your calendar NOW and make plans to attend this informative and strategic meeting discussing the future direction of ANA\C. Print the agenda and registration form.


  • New & Free Education Courses Now Available: Visit our education page and you will find several educational courses that may interest you and some are FREE.


  • Proposal to Combine Boards/Bureaus: The Administration announced a few days ago their intention to combine many Board/Bureaus under the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). To review the proposal visit www.sacbee.com. There is a process that must be followed which includes the proposals from the May Budget Revision to be sent to the OAL and from there to the legislature for their approval. If they approve, regulatory will be written to implement as required.


  • BRN Education Regulatory Proposal 2009: The BRN Education/Licensing Committee is asking for minor curriculum revisions. According to Board policy, Nursing Education Consultants may approve minor curriculum changes that do not significantly alter philosophy, objectives, or content. These will be sent to the OAL and a hearing date will be set. Major changes was not listing accreditation agencies and requiring a 75% pass rate on the NCLEX. Review the minor curriculum revisions. Please note this is a large pdf document with 140 pages.

  • ANA\C Conducts Survey: With the issue about what level of care provider should administer Insulin for Type 1 Diabetic children, ANA\C has created a survey to ascertain current practices. The survey will take about 3-5 minutes and all responses are confidential. The survey is being conducted away from this site at SurveyMonkey.com. Click Here to take survey.   • Call for Applications 2-9-2010 IOM/ANA/ANF/AAN Scholar-in-Residence:
    Application for the Scholar-in-Residence program are due June 20, 2009. This program provides a year-long leadership opportunity in health policy at the Institute of Medicine (IOM). There is an annual stipend of $75,000 along with an intensive 2-month orientation in federal health policy. To apply and to get more information visit www.aannet.org

  • ADN & Other Scholarships Available: The Health Professions Foundation is offering scholarships for ADN and other endeavors. Visit their web site at www.healthprofessions.ca.gov and visit our Resources page to get their brochure. Deadline for Fall is September 11th.
