About the Event

What’s the secret to happiness? Research reveals that when one person becomes happy, a friend living close by has a 25% chance of becoming happy too, a spouse has an 8% chance, and a next-door neighbor has a 34% chance of being happier. This notion that happiness/emotions are contagious creates the foundation of this meaningful discussion.

The United Nations Global happiness study reports that the happiest people in the world share something in common- access to choice. They do not live under conditions where they feel like they HAVE to do something. They get to choose. Our ability to choose is at the heart of what drives success while practicing Behavioral Fitness.

The medical model for mental health is largely focused on medications (Door #1) and/or talk therapy (Door #2). Access to mental health support is often driven by crisis and diagnosis. Many who need help do not get what they need for long-term sustainability. What if there was an option for door #3?

Behavioral Fitness is door #3. Leading a movement toward “mental health in action”. Get inspired by new perspectives and learning how Behavioral Fitness offers innovative approaches for mental health and wellbeing, bringing tools and resources from the behavioral sciences, addiction medicine, trauma-informed care, and Blue Zones to the mainstream. In this webinar, we will reveal some of what is behind “door #3”- exploring a blend of behavioral health education and experiences to inspire new insights, build empowerment, compassion, and create sustainability.

Behavioral Fitness was founded by a Doctor of Behavioral Health and an Emergency Nurse Leader who understand the frustrations, burdens, and friction of our broken mental health system and the challenges faced by today’s healthcare teams.

Learning objectives:

1. Describe how 8 Dimensions of Wellness can serve as a guide to living a more balanced life and illustrate how you and your teams can use this tool to build your own wellness plan.

2. Develop an understanding around patterns of human behavior and quickly provide emotional relief.

3. Explain how to use the art of novelty as a way to sustain desired behaviors.

4. Recognize the power of connection and choice as it relates to mental health and well-being.
