ANA\California is proud to endorse Dr. Ida Obeso-Martinez for California State Assembly. As a nurse, educator, mayor, and community leader, Dr. Obeso-Martinez brings to public service the perspective nurses bring to communities every day: compassion, advocacy, evidence-informed decision-making, and an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of the people we serve.

Her leadership reflects the values at the heart of the nursing profession and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, which calls upon nurses and professional nursing organizations to engage in civic life, advance policies that promote health and social justice, and advocate for healthier and more equitable communities.

California needs more nurses at the tables where decisions are made. Dr. Obeso-Martinez understands firsthand how public policy affects patients, families, healthcare professionals, and communities.
