Important 2-Year Bills Gain Momentum!

We are back for another update on 2 year bills that gained momentum out of their House of Origin!
In this update, we will examine bills in key stages of the legislative process that have passed in their House of Origin and moved onto the second legislative house for review and approval by your legislators.

Updates on Reintroduced Legislation

What do you need to know?

This bill will make an assault or battery committed against a physician, nurse, or other health care worker of a hospital engaged in providing services within the emergency department punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, by a fine not exceeding $2,000, or by both the fine and imprisonment.


Update: The State Assembly voted unanimously to pass the amended bill. The bill now moves to the State Senate, where it will receive its first reading and be assigned a new Senate bill number and author. The Senate bill will then be printed for 30 days and the Rules Committee will assign the bill to be reviewed by legislative committees.




What do you need to know?

This bill would ensure that all buildings owned and used by the state would require menstrual products in all women’s restrooms, all-gender restrooms, and at least one men’s restroom. 


Update: The State Senate voted unanimously to pass the amended bill. The bill is now in the State Assembly at the First Reading and will be assigned a new Assembly bill number and author.




The next important date coming up:

All bills for the 2024 legislative session must be introduced by Feb 16th.
